Ghana treasury bill rates

These are the latest 91-day, 182-day and 364-day figures on the Bank of Ghana rates table, with the auction date from its results list. The interest rate is the annualised one. It is not the gain for holding the bill. Kofi can show the auction. He does not say what to buy.

Estimate a treasury bill return

For someone in Ghana or abroad. Enter an amount in Ghana cedis or US dollars and a tenor. The result applies this auction’s discount rate. It is an estimate, not an offer and not a transfer quote.

Dollar rate used in the estimate: Bank of Ghana USDGHS mid 11.6200 on (buying 11.6142, selling 11.6258).

The estimate appears here. It is not a quote.

Latest auction

The interest rate is per year. A 91-day bill does not pay that percent in 91 days. The discount rate is what the Bank of Ghana uses to price the bill. On this auction, a 364-day year turns each discount rate into the interest rate beside it.

Bank savings and fixed-deposit rates

Each row is copied from that bank’s own page. The order is the order on the page. It is not a ranking, and a missing bank is not a judgement. Many banks do not print a number. Those banks are left out.

Each figure is copied from a cell in the Fixed Deposits table. The cell does not include a percent sign or the words per annum.

Each amount band is copied as printed. The table does not name a currency.

GCB prints both “500,001 & Above” and “Above 1,000,000”. Those bands overlap. Both rows are shown as printed.

GCB Bank PLC prints “As at 29th Oct. 2026” on the Fixed Deposits tab. Yanci checked the page on .

Questions about these rates

Where do these Ghana treasury bill rates come from?

The discount rate and the interest rate are copied from the Bank of Ghana treasury bill rates table for the latest issue in that table. The auction date is the date on the Bank of Ghana weekly auction results list for the same tender number. Both pages are linked. The figures change when the Bank of Ghana publishes a new auction.

Is this financial advice or a recommendation?

No. This page shows published figures and a labelled estimate. It does not tell you to buy a treasury bill, a savings account, or a fixed deposit, and it does not rank them.

How is the treasury bill estimate calculated?

The estimate applies the auction discount rate for the tenor you choose, for that many days, on a 364-day year. That day count is what turns the Bank of Ghana discount rate into the interest rate printed beside it. A US dollar amount is converted at the Bank of Ghana interbank mid rate on the date shown. Fees, tax, and the price a bank or broker actually offers are not included.

Why are most banks missing from the savings table?

A row is included only when the figure is printed on that bank’s own page. A missing bank is not a judgement. Check with the institution for its current rate.

Can I use this if I live outside Ghana?

Yes, as a way to read the latest published auction and to estimate a return in cedis. Buying a treasury bill from abroad depends on the institution you use. This page does not open an account. Join the Yanci waitlist to hear how diaspora access will work.

Not financial advice. Treasury bill rates change at each weekly auction, and a bank can change a deposit rate without notice. Check the figure with the Bank of Ghana or the institution. This page does not recommend a treasury bill, a savings account, or a fixed deposit.
