Yanci Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Yanci Investments, LLC, Accra, Ghana
1. Introduction
Welcome to Yanci. We work hard to protect your personal information and keep it private and secure.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Yanci Investments, LLC ("Yanci," "we," "us," or "our") collects through our website at investwithyanci.com and our mobile applications for iOS and Android (together, "the Yanci App"), as well as any related services, including our waitlist. It also explains why we collect your information, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.
We process personal information in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and other applicable Ghanaian laws and regulations.
Privacy is important to us. We will never rent or sell your personal information to anyone. If you have questions, or if you believe we have not followed this Privacy Policy, please contact us at support@investwithyanci.com.
2. Information We Collect and Why
We collect information to provide, operate, and improve the Yanci App, to meet our legal and regulatory obligations, and to provide the services described in the agreement between you and Yanci.
2.1 Visitor Information
When you visit the Yanci App, we collect certain technical information, such as device information (including browser type, device type, and IP address) and server log information (including the date and time of your visit, time spent on the site, browsing activity, and the website that referred you to us).
We also collect information you enter on our website or in the app, for example when you join our waitlist, begin creating an account, or contact us. We use this information to understand our visitors and our business, make the site easier to navigate, provide the services or information you request, and improve the Yanci App.
2.2 Waitlist Information
If you join the Yanci waitlist, we may collect your name, email address, and mobile phone number. We use this information to manage the waitlist, verify your contact details, and tell you about the launch of the Yanci App and your access to it.
2.3 Account Information
When you create a Yanci account, we collect certain personal information, which may include your full legal name, email address, mobile phone number, residential address, date of birth, government-issued identification details, tax identification number (such as your Ghana Card or TIN), and information about your financial situation and investment experience.
We are required by law to collect some of this information to provide financial services and to verify your identity. If you choose not to provide required information, we will not be able to open a Yanci account for you.
2.4 Other Ways We Collect Information
We may also collect personal information when:
- you subscribe to our newsletter or email updates;
- you contact our support team or otherwise communicate with us (for example, by email, phone, SMS, or WhatsApp); and
- you use the Yanci App while logged in, including the actions you take within your account.
3. SMS and Text Messaging
What we collect. When you join our waitlist, create an account, or otherwise provide your mobile phone number, we collect your phone number, your messaging consent preferences (including the date, time, and method of your opt-in), and records of the messages we send to you and your replies, such as STOP or HELP requests.
Consent and opt-in. We will only send you text messages (SMS) or, where offered, WhatsApp messages if you have provided your phone number and agreed to receive them. Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of using the Yanci App or of making any purchase.
Types of messages. The messages we send may include:
- Verification and security messages, such as one-time passcodes (OTPs) and verification codes used to confirm your phone number, log in, or authorise sensitive actions;
- Account and service messages, such as account alerts, transaction or activity notifications, waitlist and onboarding updates, and important service notices; and
- Marketing messages, such as product updates, investing education content, and promotions, which we send only if you have separately consented to receive them.
Frequency and charges. Message frequency varies depending on your activity and preferences. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile network operator's plan.
Opting out and help. You can reply STOP to any SMS message to opt out of receiving further text messages of that type, and reply HELP for help. You can also contact us at support@investwithyanci.com or update your preferences in the app. Opting out of marketing messages will not stop required security and account messages (such as OTPs and verification codes, security alerts, and important account notices), which are necessary to keep your account safe and to provide the service.
How we handle your SMS data. We use a messaging service provider (such as a Ghanaian SMS gateway) solely to deliver messages on our behalf. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may use your phone number only to send our messages.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of data stored on your computer, mobile phone, or other device you use to access the internet.
We use cookies to operate and customise the Yanci App and improve your experience, for example to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand whether you visited from a mobile device. Cookies may also record information such as the website you visited immediately before visiting the Yanci App.
We do not use cookies to provide your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Cookies that are not strictly necessary are not required to use the site, and you may refuse or delete them through your browser or device settings. However, refusing them may make some features of the Yanci App less convenient or unavailable.
5. Analytics Services
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to understand how the Yanci App is used, such as how often pages are visited, which pages are viewed, and which websites referred visitors to us. We use this information to improve the Yanci App.
Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personal information that identifies you. It may process technical information such as the page URL, referrer, browser type, and a coarse location derived from your IP address, in line with its own privacy policy. We do not combine analytics data with waitlist details or other information that directly identifies you.
If you prefer not to be counted in our aggregate traffic statistics, you can block the Plausible script with a browser extension or network filter.
6. How We Use Your Personal Information
We use your personal information to:
- create, operate, and maintain your account in accordance with Ghanaian law;
- manage the waitlist and notify you about the launch of the Yanci App;
- verify your identity, including by sending OTPs and verification codes;
- provide investing education, content, and user support;
- send you account, security, and service communications;
- understand how the Yanci App is used and improve our services;
- monitor and protect the security and integrity of the Yanci App and prevent fraud; and
- tell you about our own services and resources that may be of interest to you, where permitted by law and, where required, with your consent.
To meet our legal obligations, including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing requirements, we may compare your identifying information against government and regulatory lists of sanctioned persons and suspected terrorists or money launderers.
If you no longer wish to receive marketing emails from Yanci, click the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email, or contact us at support@investwithyanci.com. For SMS, see Section 3. If you hold a Yanci account, you cannot opt out of certain communications related to the administration of your account, such as security messages, statements, transaction confirmations, and certain regulatory notices.
7. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only as described below, with your consent, or as required or permitted by law.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Service providers. To provide our services and run our business, we may share personal information with service providers that process it only on our behalf and under our instructions. These include identity verification services, SMS and messaging providers, cloud hosting and IT providers, payment and financial infrastructure partners, customer support tools, analytics providers, and professional advisers such as auditors, accountants, and lawyers. These providers are bound by written agreements that require them to keep your information confidential and secure and prohibit them from using it for their own purposes, including their own marketing or the marketing of others.
Financial institutions and partners. We may share your information with licensed financial institutions, brokers, fund managers, or other partners where necessary to carry out services you request.
Regulators and legal requirements. We may disclose personal information to regulators and government authorities, in response to legal process (such as a court order, summons, or subpoena), or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with the law; to investigate, prevent, or act against illegal activity, suspected fraud (including identity theft), market abuse (such as front running or scalping), or threats to anyone's physical safety; or to address suspected violations of our Terms of Service or user agreements.
Business transfers. If Yanci is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of its business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
With your consent. We may share personal information in other cases where you have given your consent.
8. How We Protect Your Personal Information
We work diligently to protect your personal information using appropriate physical, technical, and organisational safeguards. These include industry-standard encryption (such as TLS) for data in transit, secure hosting environments, and documented processes for securing and storing data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We limit access to your personal and financial information to authorised personnel who need it to perform their jobs, and we require third parties that perform services for us to keep your information confidential and secure.
If you close your account, or your account is terminated, we will continue to protect your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials, passwords, and verification codes confidential and for restricting access to your devices. Yanci will never ask you to share an OTP or verification code with anyone, including our staff.
9. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. As required by applicable Ghanaian law and regulation, we may retain records for at least seven (7) years, including after your account is closed. When information is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymise it securely.
10. Your Rights
Subject to the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and other applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete;
- Object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing at any time;
- Withdraw your consent where we rely on consent, for example to marketing messages, without affecting processing that happened before you withdrew it;
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal and regulatory retention obligations; and
- Complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana if you believe your personal information has been handled unlawfully.
If you have registered with Yanci, you can review and update much of your profile information directly in the Yanci App. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@investwithyanci.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding to your request.
You can find information about the Data Protection Commission and how to file a complaint at dataprotection.org.gh.
11. Other Important Information
11.1 Former Users
If you are a former user, this Privacy Policy continues to apply to you, and we treat your information with the same care as information about current users.
11.2 Do Not Track Signals
Online tracking is the collection of data about a person's internet activity over time and across websites. Some browsers let users send a "Do Not Track" signal. The Yanci App does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
11.3 Children
The Yanci App is not directed to anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 18 has created an account or given us personal information, please contact us at support@investwithyanci.com. If we learn that a child under 18 is using our service, we will close the account and delete the child's information, subject to our legal obligations.
11.4 International Visitors
The Yanci App is operated from Ghana. If you access it from outside Ghana, your personal information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in Ghana, which may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where we use service providers located outside Ghana, we take steps to ensure that your information receives an adequate level of protection, as required by applicable law. By providing your personal information, you acknowledge that it will be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date and take effect when posted, unless stated otherwise. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email, SMS, or a notice on the website or in the app before they take effect. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
13. How You Accept This Policy
By using the Yanci App websites, mobile apps, or services, or by otherwise giving us personal information (such as joining our waitlist with your email address or phone number), you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and any updates to it. This Privacy Policy replaces any earlier version. If there is a conflict between this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions, our Terms and Conditions take precedence, except where applicable data protection law requires otherwise.
