Dividends on the Ghana Stock Exchange: Calendar and How They Work

Latest available September 2026 market report, page updated . The yields are the report’s figures, as of September 2026.

What a dividend is

A dividend is money a company chooses to pay its shareholders from profit. It can be small or skipped. It is not interest on a treasury bill and not a promise. What is a dividend? stays on that word.

Key dates

Declaration
The company announces that it intends to pay a dividend, and usually the amount per share. A declaration can still be changed if the notice says so. Read the notice.
Record date
The date used to decide whose name is on the register for that dividend.
Payment date
The date the cash is due to be paid. It is later than the record date.

A dated list of 2026 declarations, with record dates, payment dates and cedis per share, is not in the saved data. This page does not fill those cells in.

Declared dividends in 2026

What is saved is the dividend yield printed in the Ghana Stock Exchange Market Report, September 2026 (Ghana Stock Exchange) company profile, where the report shows a figure other than 0.00%. The rows are alphabetical by symbol. They are not ordered by yield, and they are not a list of picks. Declaration dates are not in the extract, so the table cannot be sorted by date.

How yield is calculated, and why low liquidity misleads

Yield here is the dividend paid out per share, divided by the share price, which is how the September 2026 report defines it. If very few shares trade, the price used in that division can jump around, and the yield can look large even when the cash dividend is small or old. A large yield is not a reason to buy. A small yield is not a reason to avoid a share.

Tax

Dividends can be taxed before they reach you. Yanci has not copied a current Ghana Revenue Authority rate, so this page does not print a percent. Ask the Ghana Revenue Authority or a tax adviser before you subtract tax from a yield. From abroad, the US and UK notes are on How to invest in Ghana from the US or UK.

Frequently asked questions

What is a dividend?

A dividend is money a company chooses to pay its shareholders from profit. It can be skipped. It is not interest on a treasury bill.

What is the difference between a record date and a payment date?

The record date is the date used to decide who is on the register for that dividend. The payment date is when the cash is paid. The saved market report does not include those dates for 2026, so this page does not print them.

Why can a high yield mislead?

Yield is the dividend per share divided by the share price. A thinly traded share can have a price that makes the yield look large. The yield in the September 2026 report is not a forecast of the next dividend.

How are dividends taxed?

Yanci has not copied a current Ghana Revenue Authority rate, so this page does not print a percent. Confirm any withholding with the Ghana Revenue Authority or a tax adviser before you subtract it from a yield.
